Homebrewing vocabulary accumulates fast, and a lot of it is genuinely load-bearing — you can't read a recipe, a forum thread, or a yeast product data sheet without running into terms like attenuation, flocculation, sparge, or krausen, and getting the definition slightly wrong leads to real mistakes (confusing apparent and real attenuation, for instance, or misjudging how much residual CO2 is already in a beer before adding priming sugar).
