The Brew Day Pack is a 12-page printable PDF designed to sit next to your kettle, not your keyboard: four reference charts condensing the site's own calculators into print-ready tables, plus fillable log templates that don't exist anywhere else on the site.
What's in it (verified by opening the file, not by intent)
Four reference charts (pages 3-6), every number computed live from the site's own tested calculation core:
- A specific-gravity-to-Plato/Brix conversion chart — 31 SG values from 1.000 to 1.120 in 0.004 steps, the same cubic approximation the ABV calculator runs internally.
- A priming sugar quick-reference matrix — 5 style-family CO2 targets (British ale, American ale, lager, Belgian ale, hefeweizen) across all three sugar types (corn sugar, table sugar, DME), 15 figures in total, for an 18.9 L (5 gal) batch at 68°F, with the over-carbonation safety ceiling flagged where a target exceeds it.
- A strike water temperature grid — 5 water:grain ratios x 7 target mash temperatures x 2 grain starting temperatures (room temperature and cool storage), 70 strike temperatures in total, from John Palmer's published formula.
- An SRM colour and name reference — 8 named colour bands (straw through black) with an actual drawn colour swatch computed from the same interpolation the SRM calculator renders, not just a hex code in a table.
Six blank fillable log templates (pages 7-12) — genuinely new artefacts that don't exist as a downloadable or printable page anywhere else on the site:
- Four copies of a one-page Brew Day Log: recipe name, style, batch size, OG/FG/IBU/SRM/ABV targets, a grain-bill table, a hop-schedule table, yeast/pitch notes, strike/mash/boil figures, actual readings, fermentation and packaging details, and notes boxes.
- Two copies of a Fermentation Tracking Log: a 16-row daily gravity/temperature/notes table plus a guide to recognizing a genuinely stable final gravity.
Every number on the reference-chart pages is generated from the exact same tested functions the interactive tools use — nothing in the Pack can drift out of sync with what GravityBench's own calculators would tell you for the same inputs.
Format
Delivered as a single PDF, formatted for US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) and printing without cropping on A4 paper using your printer's "fit to page" option. The charts read clearly in black and white; the SRM swatches are a bonus if you print in colour. Print extra copies of the log templates directly from the file whenever you run out.
Who it's for
If you're comfortable using the site's interactive calculators from a laptop or phone mid-brew-day, the reference charts won't tell you anything the tools don't already show you interactively with your own exact numbers plugged in. The Pack exists for the brewer who wants a physical, printed sheet taped to the wall next to the kettle — without needing a device open and getting wet or flour-dusted, without relying on a phone screen staying readable in direct sunlight on an outdoor brew day, and without a laptop for the blank log templates that this site doesn't publish anywhere else.
